Curtain Brothers supports PNG triathlon development program

first_imgThe funding support will go into identifying a junior talent pool and training these junior athletes into future elites.Curtain Brothers is one of the first corporates who has put its support behind this program.The PNG triathlon junior development, still in its design phase, will identify our future junior athletes hopefully from the National Triathlon Championships on Sunday, May 15. Wewak, Port Moresby, Lae, Manus, Lihir and Kavieng are sending athletes for this competition. Some of these will be juniors competing for slots in the PNG squad to the Pacific Islands Triathlon Championships in Solomons Islands in July.“The Oceania Triathlon Union (OTU) is also finalising its regional development squad around this time and we hope that we can select an additional number of juniors into this,” the association said.“Getting selected into the OTU team means opportunities for expert international training, exposure to international races and an opportunity to develop and prepare our junior athletes for future competitions like the Pacific Games and the Commonwealth Games.”Curtain Brothers is one the first corporates to support this program with others to make an announcement next week.(Some of the Pacific Games triathletes in New Caledonia in 2013.
